Due to the events that have taken place in the Middle East in the last few hours, FIBA ​​has decided to reschedule several games of the Asian Windows for the 2027 World Cup to be held in Qatar.

With the safety of participants in mind, the world’s top basketball competition has released a statement explaining the situation and the affected games on Monday, March 2.

In light of the developments today in the region, FIBA has decided to postpone all games in groups C and D of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers that were scheduled for Monday, March 2. The impacted games are:

Group C: Iran vs. Syria, Iraq vs. Jordan

Group D: Lebanon vs. India, Qatar vs. Saudi Arabia

FIBA remains in close contact with the National Federations concerned and is taking necessary measures with respect to the safety and security of teams, officials, and staff involved in those games.

The aforementioned Group C and Group D games will take place at the same locations at the beginning of the third Qualification Window, set for late June. The updated schedule will be communicated at a later stage.
