Zalgiris Kaunas GM Paulius Motiejunas confirmed that the Lithuanian club will not allow its players to participate in the World Cup qualifiers.

That means that international players Edgaras Ulanovas, Arturas Milaknis, Antanas Kavaliauskas and Paulius Jankunas (Lithuania) plus Vasilije Micic (Serbia) and Axel Toupane (France) aren’t eligible to join their national teams in the games since they don’t have their club’s consent.

As reported by 15min.lt, Motiejunas said the following: “If a person works with you and receives a salary, and the employer suddenly declares: do not work now, run for about two weeks, and we will play without you in the EuroLeague… how would it look like with our six foreign players.”
