Aleksander Djordjevic, the coach of the Serbian national team, admitted that he is preparing for the possibility of a team that doesn’t include EuroLeague players and he believes that a solution involved all parties must be reached.

As he said to “Glas Srpske” the qualification to the World Cup will not be easy for anyone: “The World Cup qualifications are very complex and we will see how the team will react to it. That is our obligation and we have to understand that. There will be a lot of new faces in the national team and perhaps teams without Euroleague and NBA players will have an advantage”.

The big issue however is not who will play or not, but the effort for a total solution in the debate. “The federation shouldn’t be sending individual requests. I talked with a lot of people during the Eurobasket including, the president of our federation and with other federations’ presidents of federations. Individual requests are not the way that will help up us. We all have to sit, talk and make group decisions. Or else, not only players, coaches but the whole basketball and sponsors will lose”.

The Serbs announced a link that includes in total 35 players. Those are Stefan Jović, Vasilije Micić, Nemanja Nedovic, Marko Gudurić, Dragan Milosavljevic, Nemanja Dangubic, Branko Lazic, Vladimir Lucic, Marko Simonović, Nikola Kalinić, Stefan Birčević, Milan Macvan, Vladimir Štimac, Ognjen Kuzmic, Nikola Milutinov, Miroslav Raduljica, Ognjen Dobric, Aleksa Radanov, Stefan Peno, Vanja Marinkovic, Aleksa Avramović, Stevan Jelovac, Nikola Jovanovic, Nikola Radičević, Sava Lešić, Nikola Rebic, Milenko Tepic, Nikola Janković, Djordje Gagic, Ivan Marinkovic, Ivan Paunic, Ilija Djokovic, Dejan Todorovic, Goran Huskić, Dejan Musli.
