After a very close first half, Australia found the way to prevail over Mexico, got the 70-62 win and the ticket to the second round of the tournament. The Boomers have a 3-1 record, while Mexico despite the exact opposite number (1-3) still has chances to qualify. Aron Baynes one more was the main offensive option of Australia and finished the game with 21 points, even on 6/15 shots, and five rebounds. On the contrary Gustavo Ayon had early foul troubles and in a very crucial game had 11 points and 9 rebounds.

Angola almost shocked Slovenia. The score was tied at 74-74 with seven minutes to go, but a 7-0 run by Edo Muric, Jaka Klobucar and Uros Slokar (81-74) gave a valuable lead to the Europeans. Despite the valiant effort of the Africans who made it a two points game (89-87) with 21 seconds to go, Slovenia stayed unbeaten and Angola without a win. The final score was 93-87 and Domen Lorbek was the top scorer of the winners with 17 points.

Lithuania (3-1) had an easy night (79-49) against Korea (0-4) at the last game of the day. After a slow start at first period the winners totally controlled everything οn the floor with good defense and right choices at the offensive end. At the half the lead was ten points (39-29) and with a partial score 18-4 in the third quarter, Lithuania practically ended the contest. Juskevicius was the leader scorer for the winners with 20 points on 7/8 shots, Donatas Motiejunas added 18.
