FIBA World Cup qualifiers: Ready for the big finale

Two tickets for the FIBA World Cup will be decided in two crucial games of the last qualifiers round.

With Serbia losing to Estonia and Israel beating Germany and also thanks to Finland’s win over France the last two tickets to China in Group K and Group L will be decided in two “finals”.

Serbia is hosting Israel and Finland will play on the road against Russia in two do or die Sunday games. The winners will get qualified for the FIBA World Cup and the losing side will have to wait for the Eurobasket qualifiers.

T.J. Cline with 14 points was the best among equals for Israel in the 81-77 win over Germany, while Jamar Wilson (photo) with 29 points led Finland to the 76-69 win over France.  On the contrary, Georgia after losing to Greece 81-69 despite 26 points and 15 rebounds by Giorgi Shermadini is out of the qualification race in Group L.
