Lebron James will skip the 2019 World Cup, as reported by Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
“The “Space Jam 2” production schedule was based on the knowledge that, regardless of when the Lakers’ season ended, LeBron would not play for Team USA,” Vardon wrote.
While James won’t return to Team USA this summer, he may do so in 2020. Per Vardon, Lebron said that playing in the next Olympic Games is a “possibility.”
James last joined Team USA in the 2012 Olympic Games. He helped the team win the gold medal for a second consecutive Olympic tournament.
