Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal won’t play in the World Cup because of the birth of his child that is expected in late August/early September, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

The tournament is held in China from 31/8 to 15/9.

Beal is the fifth player that withdraws from the Team USA training camp. L.A. Lakers big man Anthony Davis, Houston Rockets guard James Harden and guard Eric Gordon plus Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum have all decided to skip the World Cup.

There are now 15 players left in the preliminary roster of Team USA, the defending champion, for the World Cup.
