Despite missing Pau Gasol, Nikola Mirotic and Serge Ibaka for the upcoming FIBA World Cup and also with Rudy Fernadez and Marc Gasol unavailables, Spain beat Lithuania and coach Sergio Scariolo is satisfied.

“It is a team with certain limitations and we have to work to overcome them, but I see goodwill, attitude and good spirit among them,” he said about this version of the Spanish national team according to the Spanish news agency EFE.

As he explained: “There is no selfishness. I do not see any serious illnesses that can create a problem for the team. I have seen more positive than negative things, especially what we are looking for. We have had many very good plays that could end with a basket. We have been good in attitude and intensity, although we have lost some rebounds because we are very light and small”.

Pau Gasol recently visited the training camp of the Spanish national team which remains, despite its missing players, a solid medal contender.
