Venezuela hit a huge ‘roadblock’ in front of the 2019 FIBA World Cup

Venezuela squad which has been preparing in Italy for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, decided not to train anymore and went on a strike, according to Cancha Latina.

The squad’s stay in Italy has been compromised due to the national team’s debt to the place they are staying at. The situation has been so extreme that they might not be allowed to leave the hotel.

And that hasn’t been the only issue. The players haven’t been supplied with proper medical equipment for prevention and if it came to it, healing of any potential injuries.

To top it all, the players have also been discontent with coach Fernando Duro’s decisions on as well as off the court and their relationship has deteriorated to the point of no return.

Venezuela is the World Cup Group A with China, Poland and Cote d’Ivoire which has been dealing with similar issues.
