Argentina routed Venezuela 87 – 67 to improve its World Cup record to 4-0 and advance in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. Via this result, Poland, that is 4-0 after the win over Russia, qualified as well.

Gabriel Deck led Argentina with a game-high 25 points. Veteran Luis Scola scored 15 while Facu Campazzo notched 12 points and dished out nine assists.

Michael Carrera stood out from Venezuela with 19 points. The losing side trailed by double digits for the vast majority of the game following the first quarter and never became any dangerous for its opponents.

Argentina took an 18-point lead, 50 – 32, four minutes into the second half and established an advantage around 20 in the fourth quarter to cruise to victory. Coach Hernandez’s players were highly effective on offense and finished the match shooting 71% (21/30) on their 2-point attempts plus 25 assists.
