Serbia guard Bogdan Bogdanovic admitted Spain’s superiority in the loss of his team in a quite clear manner.

“They really kicked our ass today,” Bogdanovic said in the post-game presser. The Sacramento Kings player had just registered 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the match. He was the only player of his team in double figures.

“Congratulations to Spain. We aren’t eliminated from the tournament and this game can be a good and positive thing. They were a tough matchup from us obviously. A more experienced team,” Bogdanovic added.

Serbia coach Sasha Djordjevic also hailed the way Spain got the win.

“Congratulations to Spain. They were definitely the better team. They took us out of our game and out of our game plan in the second half. That’s when we couldn’t respond to the change of their defenses. We had some really inexplicable turnovers. Playing this kind of game with 17 turnovers is completely out of reach against any opponent,” Djordjevic said before commenting on Nikola Jokic’s ejection.

“We came back with some good defense and with heart. But our defensive mistakes in the second quarter were so obvious and we can’t let them happen against a team like Spain. Very experienced team. Great guards. Great point guards and another point guard like Marc Gasol. He was crucial. They were better tonight and deserved to win the game.”
