Lithuania exits this year’s FIBA World Cup on a bittersweet note, as they prevailed over the Dominican Republic with a 74-55 win, though the taste of the game vs. France will stick for a bit longer.

Jonas Valanciunas and Lukas Lekavicius paced Lithuania’s effort in the game with 19 points each, in coach Dainius Adomaitis’ last game with the national selection. Adomaitis announced his withdrawal from the Lithuanian NT on Sunday.

It was game with no significant important for either team, and this was visible in its entirety, with a slow-scoring pace. However, Lietuva grabbed a 20-point lead in the final period (68-48) and from that point on, the Dominicans’ hopes were cut short.

However, the Dominican Republic (2-3) fought on equal terms in the first half and had Rigoberto Mendoza scoring 13 points for his team.
