Exciting affair in Athens marked with a comeback win for AEK

AEK defeated Panathinaikos OPAP, 92-80, to tie the Greek League Playoffs best-of-five series at 1-1 on Friday.

Daryl Macon Jr. led the way with 23 points. Yanick Moreira posted a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. Nikos Gkikas had 11 points and five assists. On the losing end, captain Ioannis Papapetrou produced 18 points.

An early 15-point lead for the Greens evaporated during the third quarter. AEK containing its opponents gained full control down the stretch.

In the other semifinal series, Promitheas went up 1-0, against Lavrio Megabolt with a win on the road Thursday.
