A brilliant showing for Marius Grigonis in Round 2 of Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League Top 6.

The Lithuanian import connected 7/8 from the field, including 6/6 three-pointers for Panathinaikos Aktor in an away win, 79-74, against Kolossos H Hotels in Rhodes on Monday.

Nearing a personal best for the 2023-24 season, following our report on considering a new contract to extend his stint with the Greens, Grigonis scored eight points in the fourth period. He added five rebounds and one steal over 28 minutes. Making 4/4 two-pointers and 7/7 free throws, Mathias Lessort followed with 15 points. Kendrick Nunn combined 12 points with a game-high eight assists.

Avoiding an upset and securing a seventh consecutive win across all competitions, the team coached by Ergin Ataman jumped to 22-1 in the domestic league. With four games left in the Top 6, Panathinaikos controls its destiny in the hunt for homecourt advantage through the Playoffs. Contending for the top seed, Olympiacos went up to 22-2 on Sunday.

Resting before Round 34 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, Jerian Grant sat out. Finishing the round-robin double-legged schedule, the Greens welcome ALBA Berlin in OAKA Altion on Thursday. A potential win against the bottom-ranked German club would clinch homecourt advantage in the Playoffs.

The team coached by Curro Segura was forced down to 9-15, locking into the sixth seed of the 2024 Basket League Playoffs bracket. London Perrantes tallied team-highs of 16 points and seven assists.
