The aftermath of the most recent matchup between archrivals Panathinaikos Aktor and Olympiacos extended to an official announcement released by the Greens on Tuesday.

“We understand your panic, but…

Panathinaikos Aktor and team supporters will continue to lead with actions against violence along with the society and the government.

We could cite hundreds of incidents from the past, like the waters of CSKA and the innumerable stoppages of action in SEF, to demonstrate differences, but this page must turn for good, for everyone, and with everyone.

And it will turn despite being inconvenient.

Bartzokism has no place in Greek basketball in 2024. Everyone sees, everyone understands.

For the rest, we only look ahead. Only up. New peaks await.”

“Being the judge of other people’s lives is the perfect excuse not to analyze your own.”

An outburst from team owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos on his personal Instagram account was previously met with a response by the Reds.

In Round 3 of the Stoiximan Basket League Regular Season Top 6, Panathinaikos prevailing in the derby of eternal enemies all but clinched homecourt advantage in the 2024 Playoffs of Greece’s top-tier division.

At the continental level, both Greek powerhouses advanced to the Playoffs of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Panathinaikos ranked second in the Regular Season and will take on Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv or Baskonia in a best-of-five series with homecourt advantage. Olympiacos settled fifth and will face fourth-seeded FC Barcelona with the Catalonia giant securing homecourt advantage.
