Olympiacos‘ difficult month continues, following the unexpected loss at the EuroLeague Final Four in the Semi-Finals against AS Monaco, which eventually suffered a defeat in the final to Fenerbahce.
Georgios Bartzokas’ team couldn’t bounce back emotionally, as they lost Game 1 of the Greek Basket League Finals to Panathinaikos in OAKA. They lost 80-68.
After the game, the team’s owners, Giorgos and Panagiotis Angelopoulos, usually very quiet and not used to appearing in public speeches, released a statement through the club’s official social media accounts.
“What we saw tonight at OAKA is not the team we have seen all year. It would be good if everyone showed up on Sunday as they should, because our patience is running out. People will be there again to support us, we demand that the team show up as well,” they said.
Game 2 of the Greek Basket League Finals won’t be played again in OAKA, but in Peace and Friendship Stadium. It will be played on June 1st at 20:00 CET.
