A halftime incident involving Mathias Lessort created a minor controversy in the Greek Cup Final.
Lessort, despite not playing due to his injury is following the time, and at the halftime break, while he was leaving the bench, there was an incident with an Olympiacos fan.
According to Panathinaikos, the fan was making monkey noises, a racial slut towards the French big man.
According to Olympiacos, Lessort threw into the stands the peel of a banana, which he had just eaten.
There was tension in the arena momentarily; the police, which was present, intervened, and no one was taken into custody.
The player himself presented his own account of the incident in social media writing: “In front of police officers and league representatives ! Only thing they did was telling ME to calm down while these guys kept goin and stayed the whole game…. And he wasn’t just one guy but 10-15 of them”
