Olympiacos takes home another Greek derby after beating Panathinaikos (94-101) in a heated game. Bartzokas’ team gets the win on the road to remain undefeated in the GBL (21-0).
Ataman was without several injured players for the Greek derby. Nigel Hayes-Davis, Juancho Hernangómez, Jerian Grant, Nikos Rogkavopoulos, Marius Grigonis, and Alex Samodurov did not play. Frank Ntilikina, Cory Joseph, and Evan Fournier did not play for Olympiacos.
Tyler Dorsey (18 points in 12 minutes) and Donta Hall (13 points and 6 rebounds) led the win. Cedi Osman (19 p.) and TJ Shorts (18 p.) were the top scorers for Ataman’s team.
Olympiacos showed no hesitation in the first half. Tyler Dorsey led a strong opening 20 minutes at the OAKA with 18 points already, giving them a comfortable lead before halftime (44-60).
Dorsey was ejected in the second quarter alongside Kendrick Nunn because of an intense brawl on the court. Both players were exchanging words, and Mathias Lessort took part in the fight tearing Dorsey’s jersey.
Panathinaikos tried to react in the third quarter (74-80) with a 30-20 run, but couldn’t complete the comeback in the last minutes (94-101) to avoid its fifth straight loss against the Reds in the Greek competition.
