Aris won in the first match of the season against archrival PAOK.

Lefteris Bochorides scored 24 points, including the game-winning ones, and dished out seven assists as Aris Thessaloniki defeated PAOK 85 – 82 in overtime a Greek League classic derby and the game that concluded Day 1 of the championship for the 2019-2020 season.

With the score 82 – 82 and less than three seconds remaining in the extra period, Bochoridis won a foul by Apollonas Tsochlas. The Aris guard made only the first of his free throws but then grabbed the offensive rebound to make the bucket that sealed his team’s victory.

Adam Smith paced PAOK with 28 points.

On Saturday (28/9), DeShaun Thomas led Panathinaikos to a win over AEK. Promitheas Patras routed Larissa 96 – 69 on the road.
