Jordan Farmar signed until the end of the season with up and coming Turkish club Dogus Darussafaka and he gave his first interview after his return to Europe to the Turkish television station NTV.

The most interesting part about it? Farmar doesn’t exclude the possibility of playing for the Turkish national team: “In the past we had negotiations about the Turkish national team. I did not play for team USA, so if the Turkish federation makes me an offer, I can play for the Turkish national team. I will be open to an offer.”

Farmar also added more about Turkey and his new team:”My adaptation period will be easy. Same coach, players that I know and a familiar city”.

About his split with Anadolu Efes he explained: “Everything is not about money in life. I decided to go to NBA. I want to compete every day of my career and wish to win every time. Now I realised that Darüşşafaka is the place for that and I am here”.

He added about his new team: “I know that we are not playing in any European competition however our club have important plans for future. I came here with those thoughts. I also talked with the coach about the team. I like the team. We have got important players. I believe that I can adapt to the team easily. They welcomed me warmly and it’s also really important to see old friends here. I felt comfortable and this made my decision simple. I try to pass the jetlag and merge into the team as soon as possible. I will work with the same coach. I know his system. That will help me a alot.”

He also mentioned the main differences between the NBA and European basketball:”There are superstars in the NBA. Kobe, Kevin Durant, Lebron and players like that are always on the front burner. We can not be there. There is a great combat in Europe. To be seen as a superstar in here is enjoyable. I will try to compansate the team for this.”

And of course he explained the reasons of choosing Darüşşafaka and Turkey:”We used to play together with Jamon Gordon and got succesfull results, this is one of the reasons that I am here now. I got in touch with Vujacic also. He is playing in a different team but we can meet often. I am also a good friend of Hidayet Turkoglu and I talked with him too. He told me that it is my career and I will make the best decision.”
