With the second to last smaller budget in LNB’s ProA (2,6 m. euros), nobody expected that Nanterre could go all the way. However they did just that on Saturday night by beating Strasbourg and completed a 3-1 triumph in the finals. It’s the biggest surprise this season in Europe’s domestic leagues and also the biggest surprise in the history of French basketball.

Playing against the team of former NBAer Alexis Ajinca, veteran guard Aymeric Jeanneau who retired after the game and coach Vincent Collet who is also the French NT coach, Nanterre got a well deserved victory and a place to next season Euroleague. In order to play in Europe’s top competition the team will have to relocate even to “Rouen or Orleans” as the president of LNB, Alain Beral, said who will support and help the team in order to meet Euroleague’s criteria.
