Bayern Munich tried to run against Real Madrid and after 20 minutes of action the Germans were trailing just by a point (48-47) because of last second three pointer by Sergi Rodriguez. The two European powerhouses, famous for their football duels, were providing a similar game in basketball, a sport in which Bayern is just making its first baby steps in the big European stage.
So, Real had to react and did it in a spectacular way, by scoring 41 points in the third quarter. In just ten minutes of action the hosts made Bayern give up any hope and finally got the impressive 111-87 win. The favorite finally prevailed in the first game of Top16’s third week and Real remains unbeaten in Euroleague (13-0) and also undefeated in any competition, having a total record of 30-0.
