Thanks to a big third quarter, Real Madrid got the 79-72 win in Belgrade and started the Top16 with a great victory on the road. The Spaniards had 4/6 threes and 6/10 two pointers on the way to a 24-14 partial score in the third period.
The duo with Rudy Fernandez (15 p., 3/6 3p.) and Sergio Rodriguez (12 p., 2/3 3p., 7 as.) stepped up as Real Madrid got a 58-45 lead at the start of the fourth quarter after a 16-2 run. Boban Marjanovic in 20 minutes of action had 9 points and 7 rebounds as he couldn’t get into his usual standards. The same applies to Marcus Williams who scored just 3 points from free throws and had two assists.
