The Greek anti-doping council decided to temporary ban James Gist just hours before the big league game between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. The American was tested positive for the use of marijuana.
Still everyone awaits the final verdict of the council. Considering the fact it’s not the first time that Gist is tested positive during his career, he may miss the play offs and the finals of the Greek league, something that will create a new set of issues.
If this is the case, then Panathinaikos will add a player in order to cover his absence during the most crucial phase of the season. The American forward signed recently an extension of his contract with Panathinaikos untiul 2017 and his future will be decided only when his final punishment will be announced.
