Khimki edged Lokomotiv Kuban by one point (76-75) in the first game of their semifinal series in VTB league. Petteri Koponen who scored 18 points and the decisive for the game three pointer, along with Tyrese Rice (17 p., 5 as.) were the best of the winners.
Koponen scored with one minute to go (76-72) and Malcolm Delaney answered with a three of his own, having in total 22 points for Lokomotiv Kuban. Khimki however, finished the game with two more possessions thanks to an offensive rebound by Viktor Claver and despite not scoring, they kept the lead until the final buzzer.
