Cremona announced on Sunday its decision to stop activities of the first team. The Italian club’s Board of Directors evaluated the situation, took note of the lack of economic coverage and guarantees for the next LBA Serie A season, and decided that they will either sell the company or liquidate.

The 2019-20 season marked the team’s 11th consecutive season in its country’s top-flight division. In 2019 captured the Italian Cup highlighting its run at the top level of Italian basketball.

With Cremona stepping away, the Italian league is one team down moving on to the 2020-21 season following the early conclusion of the previous season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
