Virtus Segafredo Bologna defeated AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano, 73-62, to sweep the LBA Finals on Friday.

Marco Belinelli and Kyle Weems starred in Game 4 of the best-of-seven series lifting the home side with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Milos Teodosic followed with ten points on his way to the Finals MVP award. Alessandro Pajola contributed eight points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Ettore Messina’s side went up by eight points to start the second quarter but failed to build on the early momentum. The rivals exchanged blows up to the fourth quarter and the first double-digit lead with 5:35 remaining.

The team coached by Sasha Djordjevic held on for the triumph in the low-scoring battle and the 16th domestic title in team history, the first since 2001. In addition, the 4-0 series was the first sweep in the Italian League Finals since 2010.

Shavon Shields packing a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double was not enough to keep Milan alive. Kevin Punter logged 11 points.
