Lots of downtown shots made the difference in the most stunning result this Week in Italy.

A huge 3point shot by Marten Leunen at the last seconds of the game between Milano (13-5) and Avellino (10-8) was responsible for the surprise of the Week in the Italian Championship. The guests were threatening enough to even lead with 12 at a third point of the game, yet their opponents managed to not only come back but go ahead with 13 and 6 minutes to go. But Avellino “too hot to handle” from the perimeter, not only reacting, but ultimately taking this huge win. They are now 6th in the standings.

Reggio Emilia (13-5) made the best out of the gift that was offered by Milano. The two teams are now tied at the first place of the standings, since coach Menetti’s players took a strong win on the road vs Cantu thanks to great defense that forced their opponents to a bad shooting performance. Cremona (12-6) fell behind after being defeated by Caserta (8-10), while Brindisi (8-10) rose victorious over Sassari (9-9), the reigning champs.
