LEGA’s eleventh round concluded with one of the best games Italian basketball has to offer.
Olimpia Milano emerged victorious over Virtus Bologna, claiming a crucial win in the highly anticipated derby with a final score of 74-63.
Coming off a huge EuroLeague victory against Panathinaikos, the team coached by Peppe Poeta capped off a perfect week, led once again by the same standout performer.
Armoni Brooks paced the home side with 23 points, while Zach LeDay and Josh Nebo contributed 14 points apiece.
Luca Vildoza’s 13 points were not enough for the visitors.
Despite building a double-digit lead in the second quarter (26-14), Olimpia Milano saw Virtus Bologna pull even by halftime, with the score tied at 35-35.
The opening minutes of the second half proved decisive. Virtus Bologna took an early lead in the third quarter (38-45), but Milano responded quickly.
A dominant 16-2 run put Olimpia Milano firmly in control at 55-47 late in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter began even better, as the lead stretched to +12 (68-56), allowing Milano to comfortably close out the game and secure the win.
