Round 25 of the Italian Serie A proved particularly significant, as for the first time in many weeks there is no longer a single team at the top of the standings.

Reyer Venezia defeated Virtus in Bologna by 82-86, extending the struggles of the team coached by Nenad Jakovljevic, who now sit tied with Brescia at 18-5. Meanwhile, Venezia improved to 17-7, level with Olimpia Milano.

Matt Morgan led all scorers with 23 points, while Amedeo Tessitori added 17 to guide the visitors.

After three tightly contested quarters, the game broke open in the final period in favor of the away side. A decisive 1-11 run quickly turned a 66-65 deficit into a 67-76 lead. That surge gave Venezia a crucial cushion, although the home team responded and managed to tie the game at 80.

However, the comeback effort was not enough to overturn the momentum, as Venezia controlled the closing moments and secured the win.

Earlier, Olimpia Milano defeated Reggiana 80-76 thanks to Armoni Brooks’ 22 points. After dominating the first three quarters, the team from Milan was two points down with just a few minutes to play (67-69). But the home team regained composure and was able to secure a very important win to keep chasing Vritus and Brescia at the top of the standings.
