After a season divided between three NBADL teams and Al Ahli in Dubai, Gani Lawal returned to Europe for Cantu. The 27 years old player made his name in Italy as a member of Roma.
He also played for the Philadelphia Sixers, VEF Riga, Milano, Trabzonspor and Panthinaikos but he never lasted more than a season in the same team. Since 2010 he has played for a total of 16 different clubs all over the world, managing in the meantime to win the Greek Cup with Panathinaikos and the Italian league championship title with Milano.
