Coach Mike Budenholzer is keeping a close eye on the Greek national team and Giannis Antetokounmpo and so far his impression of the work done in the preparation for the upcoming Eurobasket is more than positive.

Speaking to the Greek national television, while watching the game between Turkey and Georgia for the “Acropolis tournament”, Budenholzer explained how much he enjoys the experience: “It feels good to be here, watching European basketball and the national teams play. Basketball is different here, but there is also a lot in common. The Europeans are doing a great job and I’m happy to be here watching the games”.

Bud, of course, had only good thing to say about Giannis and what makes him special: “It’s everything. He is one of the most special people. His character, his work, and his humility are everything you want in a man. We are lucky to have him in Milwaukee and he is a pleasure to work with”.

And with this kind of leader, coach Budenholzer likes the Greek national team’s chances for the upcoming Eurobasket. Plus, Budenholzer praised Greek national team coach Dimitris Itoudis: “He is doing a great job. I saw the practices and I can say that the national team will play hard and selflessly. Giannis brings something special to the team and you can see that the players are excited to have him with them”.

As for the Bucks, the 2021 title run and next season, coach Bud added: “You dream about all this, the championship, the titles, but you focus on everything you do every day. You dream about it, but you have to wake up and work. We have a great team. Giannis is important but also several important players next to him. We have a lot of good players and we have a really good team”.
