Since Turkey didn’t advance to Rio’s Olympics through the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila, Philippines, Ender Arslan announced he will resign from the Turkish national team.

After the games in Manila, Arslan announced his decision to say goodbye to the national team after having met with the Turkish Basketball Federation President, Harun Erdenay.

The player stated: “I felt great pride and honor to wear the national team jersey for many years, but now it’s time to leave my place to young people and say goodbye. Basketball in my life. I had one dream and it was to fight in the Olympics, I came to the Philippines for this purpose. For this, we worked hard, we did our best. But this is the sport. We were unable to gain the results we desired. I want to thank the president of the federation, the coaches, managers and employees. Hopefully Turkish basketball will continue to be the pride of the Turkish people. “
