With five players scoring in double-digit numbers, Russia overpowered Ukraine 82 – 67 in a game for a prep tournament that takes place in Tbilisi, Georgia, ahead of the Eurobasket 2017 qualifiers.

Alexey Shved provided in different areas of the game, scoring 18 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing 3 assists. Vitaly Fridzon (14 points) and Sergey Karasev (11 points) were also solid for Sergey Bazarevich’s squad.

Vyacheslav Kravtsov was the top performer for Ukraine with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

During the game, Timofey Vozgov was forced to leave the court quite early, after a groin injury.

In the other game of the tournament, Georgia defeated the Netherlands 77 – 66 with Viktor Sanikidze dropping 16 points and Mike Dixon adding 13 of his own.

Jessey Anthony Voorn scored 17 points for the Dutch national team.

Another tournament is being held on Cluj, with the participation of Romania, Estonia, Bulgaria and Hungary. A basket by Titus Nicoara gave the last-second 67 – 66 victory to the hosts against Estonia.

Malcolm Armstead and Alex Olah paced the winners with 12 points each.

With Sasha Vezenkov scoring 15 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and stealing the ball twice, Bulgaria faced no problem whatsoever against Hungary, winning 87 – 59.
