Luwawu-Cabarrot signs multiyear deal with Nets

The Brooklyn Nets upgraded the French player’s contract.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed French swingman Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to a multiyear deal, the player’s agent announced on Twitter. Luwawu-Cabarrot had joined the Nets on a two-way contract at the beginning of the season and had been under ten-day contracts with the team since January 15.

Luwawu-Cabarrot, 24, has averaged 5.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.3 minutes over 25 games this season. He last scored 13 points in a win over the Phoenix Suns on February 4.

Before moving to the Nets, Luwawu-Cabarrot had played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Chicago Bulls. In 2018-2019, he posted career-high averages 6.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 29 games with Chicago.
