Enes Kanter expressed his excitement regarding practice facilities reopening in Massachusetts during an interview with CNN Philippines. The Massachusetts government announced on Monday that athletic fields and courts will be reopening under restrictions on May 25.

“We’ve been waiting for this to happen for the last two months and I think it’s finally going to happen,” mentioned the Boston Celtics center, “All NBA players are working out in our house and we try to do best that we can to stay at game shape. I think we just need to go out there and have that three-to-four week period to get back in real game shape.”

Players able to attend voluntary workouts following the lengthy hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic is considered the first step towards the 2019-20 NBA season resuming. It has been widely reported that the league will decide whether to recommence the paused campaign in early June. Nothing concrete yet on the competition format, but the Celtics were already qualified for the playoffs before the decision to suspend the season.

“In the playoffs, if you lose, you go home. You gonna give everything you have,” said Kanter stressing the health safety remains the priority among the players, “We need to make sure we will be healthy and play safe.”

The Turkish center appeared in 51 games for the 2019-20 season earning six starts. He averaged 8.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 0.7 blocks per contest.
