Boban Marjanovic probably knew that in the absence of centers Dwight Powell and William Cauley-Stein, he will spend a lot of time on the court in the Dallas Mavericks‘ scrimmage against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Such was the case, since Marjanovic played a game-high 23:48 minutes, during which he posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds to help Dallas return to action with a 108 – 104 win.

Marjanovic shot 6-9 from the field and also pitched in two assists and two blocks in his and his teammates’ first game since March 11 and the victory over the Denver Nuggets. The Serbian center had then scored a career-high 31 points in the last NBA match before the suspension of all action.

“With Dwight being out and Willie Cauley-Stein not being here, (Marjanovic is) very much in the mix,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said per Mavs.”Look, coming off what (Marjanovic) did in the Denver game (on Mar. 11) in the last game of the hiatus when he had 31 (points) and 17 (rebounds), he’s showing what he can do.”

Luka Doncic had 14 points, six rebounds and five assists, Maxi Kleber dropped 10 points and Kristaps Porzingis eight points. Seth Curry led the Mavs with 23 points on spotless 8-8 shooting.

For the Lakers, Javale McGee and Quinn Coook scored 13 points apiece.
