The opening clash between the LA teams will most likely happen without some key actors on both sides

The highly-anticipated clash between the LA squads in the NBA restart opener on July 30 will be missing some important players for the Clippers and perhaps for the Lakers as well.

Clippers won’t be able to count on Montrezl Harrell who is yet to return to the Orlando bubble after leaving for a personal matter on an excused absence, according to Yahoo Sports.

They also won’t have Lou Williams in the squad who has to get through a ten-day quarantine after his somewhat controversial absence from the campus.

Patrick Beverley, on the other hand, returned to the bubble but is not a guaranteed thing for the opener as coach Doc Rivers said he considered Beverley a “maybe”.

Some good news for the Clippers is that Ivica Zubac and Landry Shamet should both be available from the start. They both tested positive for coronavirus earlier in LA but arrived to Orlando since and were cleared from quarantine.

The Lakers have been much better in that regard but Anthony Davis gave them a scare after leaving the scrimmage against the Magic in the first quarter due to getting poked in the eye.

He didn’t return to the court since and there’s a solid chance he’ll be resting against the Clippers as he is still dealing with discomfort while being considered day-to-day.
