Shaun Livingston told The Athletic that he will return to the Golden State Warriors as their director of player affairs and engagement. As a player himself between 2014 and 2019, he won three NBA championships.

“I always wanted to take this path,” he confessed, “At the same time, with everything that’s going on, there’s more purpose in this job now, although I think there has always been purpose with it. I understand I may be the only brother in the office doing this. At the same time, there’s more purpose in me doing this job, especially as a Black person right now.”

Another former Warriors player and Livingston’s teammate from 2014 through to 2016, Leandro Barbosa was officially tabbed as a player mentor coach.
