The NBA champion reacted to the shortest NBA offseason so far

The 2020-21 NBA season will officially kick off on December 22, as the start date was approved by the National Basketball Players Association on Thursday.

This means that the NBA offseason will last just 71 days — the shortest offseason in the league’s history —, something that NBA champion LeBron James seems not too pleased about.

James, who just finished leading the Lakers to the NBA title last month, shared his reaction to the news on Instagram on Friday afternoon.

The NBPA ultimately agreed upon a 72-game season that will start on December 22 and with the intention to end before the Tokyo Olympics kick off in mid-July. This plan leaves just 71 days between the Lakers’ NBA Finals win and opening day, less than half the traditional offseason and nearly half of the previous shortest league offseason — which was 127 days.
