The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting Marc Gasol, per Marc Stein of The New York Times. The reigning NBA champs are considering the Spanish big man in order to cover the big-man vacancy on their roster due to Dwight Howard leaving the team for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Marc Gasol’s future destination has been a much-discussed topic, especially after the reports that the veteran center is considering returning to Europe and his native in particular. Much of the speculation has also been around Gasol potentially joining Barcelona.
If the Lakers‘ interest becomes a deal, then Gasol wil join the team six years after his older brother Pau’s departure from Los Angeles. The latter won back-to-back titles with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
