The Trail Blazers are closing their facilities after three positive COVID-19 cases

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

The Portland Trail Blazers have announced three positives for COVID-19 and as a result, their practice facility will remain closed until further notice for disinfection.

The team’s GM Neil Olshey stated the following as the team confirmed the news via a press release Sunday:

“Over the past four days, we have had three positive COVID test results within our organization. Out of an abundance of caution, having completed contact tracing, we are closing our practice facility today for deep cleaning while we run confirmatory tests”.

Sunday was to have been the first full day of training camp for the Blazers. They, along with all other NBA teams, began having players back in their facility for individual workouts last week.

The team did not say whether the positive tests involved players, staff or some combination of the two. Portland is scheduled to open its preseason slate at home Friday against Sacramento.
