Giannis Antetokounmpo voiced his concerns about being black in America and keeps encouraging the effort for change

The NBA community reacted to the prosecutors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, deciding not to file criminal charges against the police officers in the August shooting of Jacob Blake as well as to the recent incidents in the US Capitol.

The two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was certainly among them. “As Giannis, I stand for change. My team stands for change and whenever we see something that isn’t right we’re gonna speak about it, use our platform the right way. The NBA and the Milwaukee Bucks give us a great platform to do that,” he said and continued.

“At the end of the day, when I stop playing basketball and while I’m playing basketball, my kid is gonna grow up here in America. My kid is black. And I can not imagine my kid going through what I see and what I see on the TV. If while I’m living and while I’m breathing, I can do something about it to even change it for the better, I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna speak out about it, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to educate myself and I’ve got to inform myself even more.”
