An unlikely situation unfolded on Friday as the Atlanta Hawks visited the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The opposing teams opted for similar uniforms and the hosts ultimately changed theirs at halftime to resolve the mix-up.

The Thunder began the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season match with their orange uniforms while the Hawks wore red. It was extremely hard for viewers to separate the players of both teams before the white uniforms came in for the home side to start the second half.

“You could definitely tell playing on the court,” admitted Thunder’s Kenrich Williams said, “Just kind of just — you see somebody, and it’s like, ‘Oh. That’s not my teammate.’”

Oklahoma City noted via a statement that the Hawks selected the incorrect uniform color adding that they changed because the Hawks only brought the red uniforms on their trip.

The Thunder led, 63-55, at the break and went on to win, 118-109.
