Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert picked former EuroLeague champion Joe Ingles as the one player among his teammates who isn’t receiving the recognition he deserves for his performances.

“… If there’s one guy that doesn’t get a lot of credit, I would say Joe Ingles,” Gobert said in an interview for Basketball News’ NBA Top Shot Weekly. “He’s been really consistent for us this year, and in some games he does score a lot, but even if he doesn’t score a lot, he’s someone who really sacrifices a lot for the team. He’s always trying to make the right play. We’re always trying to tell him to shoot the ball more, and he’s been doing that very well over the last few weeks.”

Ingles is having one of the most productive seasons of his NBA career, averaging 11.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 26.5 minutes. He’s been shooting 50.0 percent from the 3-point line on 5.4 attempts per game to help the Jazz lead the league with a 38 – 12 record.

“… Joe has been a key part of our second unit and he’s someone who, when he’s on the floor, is always trying to make his teammates better,” Gobert added. “Obviously, we have a lot of great players who can impact the game in a lot of ways, but Joe is the one who doesn’t get talked about a lot.”
