Dennis Schroder stepped up with 25 points, eight assists and six rebounds to help the still ailing Los Angeles Lakers beat top-placed yet shorthanded Utah Jazz 127 – 115.
It was one of the top all-around performances by Schroder this season despite some troubles from the 3-point line (1-6). The German guard also had two blocks in the 39 minutes he played.
Ersan Ilyasova had his best game as a Jazz, scoring a season-high 20 points and getting five rebounds. Bojan Bogdanovic added 19 points on 5-15 shots for Utah that was without Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley.
The Chicago Bulls snapped a five-game losing streak by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 106 – 96 behind Nikola Vucevic’s 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Lauri Markkanen contributed 16 points plus six rebounds, Daniel Theis scored eight points and Tomas Satoransky had seven points for the Bulls. Isaiah Hartenstein finished with four points and six rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench for the Cavs.
