Nikola Jokic blocking Zion Williamson with 2.2 seconds remaining earned the narrow win for the Denver Nuggets versus the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. He appeared to make contact with Williamson’s hand, but the officials did not call a foul.

“The basketball gods always give a little bit of luck to the people who play hard,” he mentioned after the game. He finished with 32 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocks over 36 minutes.

“I think I am in the middle, not a great or the worst defender. I am able to make some stops but other times I can’t,” he added replying to a question on his defensive abilities, “I am just trying to get better on both ends.”

The Joker, an MVP candidate, has 26.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.7 blocks per contest so far in the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season. The Nuggets currently stand fourth in the Western Conference with a 41-21 record, five wins ahead of the fifth-placed Los Angeles Lakers.
