Carmelo Anthony has agreed to join the Los Angeles Lakers on a one-year contract, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He confirmed his move via a post on Twitter.

Anthony, 37, was rumored to be considering offers from his former team, the New York Knicks, and the Lakers. He opted to become a teammate of his friend LeBron James at LA.

He is coming off his 18th NBA season and second in a row attached to the Portland Trail Blazers. He logged 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per Regular Season match, and 12.3 points per Playoffs contest.

The Lakers had already agreed with Malik Monk, Kent Bazemore, Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, and Dwight Howard to start free agency.
