Newly-appointed special advisor Dirk Nowitzki, owner Mark Cuban, head coach Jason Kidd, GM Nico Harrison, and assistant GM Michael Finley will travel to Slovenia next week to represent the Dallas Mavericks and officially present the five-year supermax extension offer to Luka Doncic, reports Marc Stein.

Doncic, 22, is expected to re-sign with the Mavs securing over $200 million. He has committed to extending his contract since the end of the 2020-21 NBA season but has since focused on leading Slovenia to the Olympic Games and playing in Tokyo. His national team will face Australia on Saturday with the prevailing side capturing the bronze medals.

The Slovenian sensation has established himself as the franchise cornerstone at Dallas. The Mavericks group making the trip to Ljubljana certainly adds a personal touch on the contract extension and confirms him in his role as a leading player.
