The LA Lakers made a comeback and managed to grab a hard-fought win against the Detroit Pistons but they had to do it without LeBron James who got ejected in the third quarter when the team was down 12 points.

LeBron and Isaiah Stewart came into contact while fighting for position after a free throw by the Pistons, and the Lakers star elbowed Stewart’s face which initiated a big rumble, despite James seemingly trying to apologize instantly.

Stewart was very upset and tried to rush at James multiple times while getting stopped by everybody nearby, preventing a potentially disastrous situation.

Stewart was initially whistled for a loose ball foul on the play. Following an official review, James was assessed a flagrant foul 2 and ejected, Stewart was assessed two technical fouls and ejected and Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was called for a technical foul.

The ejection was just the second of James’ 19-year career. The first came on November 28, 2017, when Cleveland Cavaliers played the Miami Heat.
